Alexus Hamilton, tLMFT is passionate about the support and guidance that families can offer, as well as the role an individual plays in these systems. For this reason, she sees families, couples, and individuals from all circumstances.
Giving Back
Overcoming her own stressors played a part in what led Alexus to become a therapist. For example, her family was there to support and uplift her throughout her struggles. For this reason, she recognizes the huge impact that this made for her, and her goal is to help facilitate this support in other families as well.
Alexus has received this kindness not only from her family, but also from her community. She wants to give back to the same community that has shaped who she is today, especially with mental health. Forming strong connections and building relationships is a large part of her therapy approach.
Everyone has a voice
Social justice is important to Alexus. She knows that every single person has a voice, and every voice is worth listening to. For this reason, she especially focuses on voices that are too often ignored This includes BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. She values every voice, and wants every individual she meets to realize that. In addition, she is currently examining ways to better support Black therapists, couples, and families as a research assistant.
Painting, reading, and playing board games with friends are some of her hobbies outside of session.
