"Vulnerability is not a weakness. Vulnerability is the courage to try something new when previous efforts have not yet brought you to the place you want to be."

As a wife and mother learning to do life with a blended family of nine people, Andrea understands the complexities of life transitions and adjustments. For this reason, she maintains a “come as you are” invitation in her therapy sessions, because that’s what each of us has to work with and where we can grow from.

Get to Know Andrea

Selecting a mental health provider is a very personal decision. Learn a bit more about Andrea and what to expect when you or a loved one receive care with us at Covenant Family Solutions. Our mission is to unleash your potential.

Andrea Bullerman, MA, TLMFT works with individuals, couples and families to help increase connection and overall mental and emotional wellness. Andrea began her experience as an intern with Covenant Family Solutions before fully joining the team of clinicians at the Cedar Falls location.

Additionally, she has worked over 10 years in a high school education setting as an instructional strategist working with students with diverse learning needs. Leaning on her experience in both professions, she is aware how a collaborative approach with others is beneficial in helping individuals or families identify resources which can offer support.

Mental Health and Courage

Andrea understands that our mental health journey takes courage and we need to step out of our comfort zones. She has experienced this challenge firsthand, and has learned to be vulnerable and lean on others for support in times of need. This has inspired her to help be that support for others as they are going through their toughest times.

As a wife and mother learning to do life with a blended family of nine people, Andrea understands the complexities of life transitions and adjustments. For this reason, she maintains a “come as you are” invitation in her therapy sessions, because that’s what each of us has to work with and where we can grow from.

Strength and Capability

In session, she uses a solutions-focused approach and makes inclusiveness a priority in creating a safe-space of trust and acceptance. Above all, Andrea is empathetic and compassionate in her approach to helping others and believes the past does not define a person or their hope in the future.

Sometimes in our search for strength and self, we have to explore new things and test solutions that fit us. Through her own experiences, Andrea has learned that vulnerability, though scary and overwhelming, can facilitate a new sense of self-acceptance and strength. Andrea believes each of her patients has the capacity for hope and change. Seeking professional care is the first step towards showing courage and strength towards personal fulfillment and happiness.

How do you know if your child might have ADHD or if their behavior is typical, albeit a bit overly energetic? The answer is you don’t have to know. Parents and caregivers are not expected to know everything about their children.

When you are suffering from poor sleep hygiene, the impacts can be felt in every part of your life. It is much harder to manage emotions and think clearly when you are tired all the time.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Whether it’s from a friend, family member, trusted colleague or a professional, people are out there to help.
