Douglas McPhee, PhD, LMFT has years of experience providing therapy services. For instance, he previously worked in healthcare setting training medical residents in behavioral health. He is also an assistant professor at Mt. Mercy University.
Desire to Help Others Heal
Doug’s motivation stems from his desire to help others. Similarly, it is very rewarding for him to witness individuals grow, heal, and achieve their goals. Not only does he provide quality care himself, but he also enjoys training other healthcare professionals to do the same. In doing so, he makes sure that mental health is taken into account in all healthcare fields.
Doug believes that help should be as accessible as possible. For this reason, he serves as the Clinic Director at the Olson Marriage & Family Therapy Clinic. This clinic is an entity of Mt. Mercy University, and provides services at reduced costs.
Authentic Care
It is important to Doug to be authentic, balanced, and passionate – especially in a therapy setting. As someone who specializes in helping couples and families, he knows that communication plays a key role in success, especially in relationships. While we aren’t born with these skills, therapists can help us practice and build them. This is why providers like Doug can make such an impact.
