Get to Know J-P

Selecting a mental health provider is a very personal decision. Learn a bit more about J-P and what to expect when you or a loved one receive care with us at Covenant Family Solutions. Our mission is to unleash your potential.

Kind, compassionate, and nerdy are three words that describe J-P Blix in a nutshell. He will be the first to tell anyone he meets that he is a “big nerd” with a vivid imagination. In fact speaking “geek” is one of J-P’s favorite past times along with playing foosball in his office.

Underneath his affection for all things geek lies an incredibly genuine mental health therapist who is dedicated to helping you unleash your potential.

You are unique, your mental healthcare should be too.

What you pay attention to, grows.

Dr. Randall Lyle

J-P believes that quality mental health care takes unique individuals working with unique teams. He is grateful to be a part of that change. The recipe for unlocking your keys to personal growth and healing should be unique to you.

He enjoys meeting the mental healthcare needs of all people, but is especially passionate about serving teens and members of the LGBTQ+ community. J-P meets each person where they are at while identifying their strengths and supporting them as they work to improve their mental wellbeing.

To put it simply, J-P wants to help his clients and team members level up in their lives. He wants support you in finding your identity, draw out your strengths, and create new pathways of fulfillment.

Helping to Build Better Tomorrows

A dedicated community volunteer, J-P recently completed his term on the board of directors at Better Tomorrows ECI and helped to co-create the Role 4 Inspiration program. Role 4 Inspiration is a role-playing program that utilizes a fantasy environment to help teens practice social skills. The program focuses on those who struggle with Social Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorder, or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Ready to speak geek?

If you are, J-P is your guy. But not to worry, J-P’s version of geek does not include lots of big confusing words. His version of geek involves a game of foosball and the latest sci-fi movie. (If you are wondering, he prefers Star Wars to Star Trek, although Star Trek: The Next Generation outranks all!)

Please reach out to schedule an appointment (and speak geek) with J-P at our Coralville Clinic.

When you are suffering from poor sleep hygiene, the impacts can be felt in every part of your life. It is much harder to manage emotions and think clearly when you are tired all the time.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Whether it’s from a friend, family member, trusted colleague or a professional, people are out there to help.

Eating disorders are something to be taken seriously. Although females make up the majority of cases, all genders are impacted.
