Motivated by Faith
Kalen once heard someone ask, “Do you know how to tell if someone needs encouragement?” The answer: “They’re breathing. If someone is alive, they need to be encouraged!”
Kalen’s motivation for answering the call to encourage others through therapy stems from his Christian faith. He believes that all people have intrinsic worth and value, which is at the center of his therapeutic approach.
Kalen describes himself as “average guy”, which he believes helps him more easily connect with others. He enjoys using his sense of humor to help clients feel comfortable and at home while they work together to address life’s challenges.
His hope is that his clients will feel as though they have been both seen and heard when they leave his office and is excited to be part of a team that brings mental health healing to Eastern Iowa.
Staying Busy
Kalen and his wife have two small children who make a lot of messes and bring a lot of joy to life :). He enjoys reading, eating, watching sports – the NDSU Bison, the Hawkeyes, the T-Wolves, the Lakers (especially now that Luka plays for them), and most NFL teams. Additionally, Kalen enjoys being involved in local church ministry, a good cup of coffee, and well-done music.
