Dr. Megan Hart-Fernandez is dual certified as both a family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She provides mental health medication services as well as physicals, breastfeeding help, and primary care. Megan is fluent in Spanish.
No Stranger to the Benefits of Mental Healthcare
Megan is a relatable provider and no stranger to the feelings that make us human. During the birth of her first child, Megan had a near-death experience. This led to feelings of trauma long after her physical health had improved.
Through therapy, Megan was able to overcome and transform her pain. This experience motivated her to find a better way to provide healthcare to her patients. She returned to school to pursue a post-doctoral certificate in psychiatric nursing. Her goal is to provide compassionate and holistic care to all people — especially those who have faced similar challenges.
A Judgement-Free Zone
Megan provides care that is deeply rooted in honesty and integrity. She practices in a judgement-free zone and allows each person to start every session with a clean slate. Megan feels that past trauma and life choices should not be a source of shame.
She firmly believes that people have control over their own futures. As such, Megan enjoys empowering people to be active participants in their health plan. With each person she cares for, Megan creates a treatment plan based on their individual goals and needs. This approach allows her to provide exceptional care to all people no matter what.
Megan’s training as a family nurse practitioner means that she is also able to provide some primary medical care. She especially enjoys providing care to new parents, people going through life transitions or trauma, and those dealing with workplace stress and interpersonal conflicts. Her personal motto can be summed up by one of her favorite C.S. Lewis quotes, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you CAN start where you are and change the ending.”
In addition to weekday appointments, Megan offers evening and weekend telehealth services to better accommodate busy schedules.
