De-Stigmatize Mental Health

As someone who experiences anxiety and the challenges that it presents, Selma understands the importance of stopping the stigma. She is not afraid to learn new things and overcome challenges, and wants others to feel empowered to do the same, especially when it comes to their health. It is important to her to better herself in all areas of her life and overcoming mental health obstacles has allowed her to do just that.

Reliable and friendly

It is also important to Selma to be a friendly face for others. She is aware of the fear and anxiety that many feel when they come to therapy for the first time. Reliability is also something that Selma upholds in her role. This applies to both her interactions with patients and staff.

Outside of work, Selma enjoys hiking, traveling, and baking with friends and family.

Get direction for your life!

Emotions are stupid

Most of our poor decisions and behaviors that we wish we could re-do are driven by our feelings. In most cases we are probably reacting from an emotion and not even really thinking!

Oppositional Defiant Disorder

ODD is one of the most common behavioral disorders among kids. Unfortunately, people exhibiting these behaviors are sometimes mislabeled as "naughty" or "bad," which can be damaging.

Connecting With Your Teen

Regulate your emotions and then engage in co-regulation with your teen from a place of curiosity and compassion.
