Get to Know Kathie

Selecting a mental health provider is a very personal decision. Learn a bit more about Kathie and what to expect when you or a loved one receive care with us at Covenant Family Solutions. Our mission is to unleash your potential.

Growing up as a first generation Asian American, Kathie Pham saw her family negatively impacted by the criminal justice system. This grew into a passion for mental health and desire to help others who may feel as though they have no voice.

An Advocate for Others

Unsurprisingly, from the start of her career, Kathie has leaned into opportunities that allowed her to be an advocate for racial justice and to learn more about the criminal justice system. Through this work, she has seen firsthand how people — including those incarcerated and their families — are impacted. Kathie is dedicated to being a support and advocate to those reintegrating back into society.

Additionally, having worked in criminal justice herself, Kathie also understands the heavy weight of working in the field. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve those who serve others including first responders and military personnel.

Think Outside the Box

No one likes to be put into a box — especially when it comes to their healthcare. Kathie embraces an “outside the box” approach to supporting her clients mental health needs. She intentionally seeks out ways to be creative in developing personalized treatment plans. Being creative also gives Kathie the opportunity to meet those in her care where they’re at so they don’t feel alone in their treatment journey.

What to Expect

In your first meeting with Kathie, she will start by helping you to identify the stressors you are facing. Next, she will collaborate with you in creating a treatment plan based on your strengths and available resources.

Ultimately, Kathie is driven by the opportunity to support you as you unleash your potential and find fulfillment in your life. For Kathie, fulfillment in her life includes helping others, but also in finding time for self-care and relaxation. An old soul at heart, she enjoys crocheting, cooking new foods, and spending time with her cats.

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
