Get to Know Michelle

Selecting a mental health provider is a very personal decision. Learn a bit more about Michelle and what to expect when you or a loved one receive care with us at Covenant Family Solutions. Our mission is to unleash your potential.

Michelle Swan has been a long-time advocate of mental health. Unsurprisingly, she has spent her career dedicated to supporting individuals facing mental health issues in a variety of healthcare settings.

Responding to the need of her community

Michelle grew up in central Iowa and loves serving her community and the people in it. It has been her personal goal for years to expand the accessibility of mental health services in the region. At Covenant Family Solutions she is excited to be a part of striving towards that goal.

Care without judgement

It is important to Michelle that her office is a safe space where you can be yourself — without judgement. She prioritizes collaborating with you and, where appropriate, your family to create a person-centered approach to mental healthcare.

As your medication prescriber, Michelle will work with you to determine what mental health medications may help alleviate your symptoms and allow you to work towards your goals. Most importantly, with Michelle you will have a voice and be an active participant in your mental health treatment.

Look at you grow!

The greatest reward in mental health is the privilege to watch people grow and thrive — especially when they are able to take an active role in managing their mental health. As Michelle says, “There’s no other feeling like it.” She is excited to support you on your journey.

The ocean is calling

Despite her love for central Iowa, Michelle absolutely loves the ocean. She tends to spend vacations near water as much as she can. If you are ready to follow the current towards your mental health goals, please reach out to schedule an appointment with Michelle.

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
