Get to Know Rebecca

Selecting a mental health provider is a very personal decision. Learn a bit more about Rebecca and what to expect when you or a loved one receive care with us at Covenant Family Solutions. Our mission is to unleash your potential.

As you or your loved one’s mental health provider, Rebecca McMurray (or “Becka” as we call her) promises to always be creative, fun, positive, honest and persistent. No matter your circumstance, she will provide you with unconditional positive regard and focus on your strengths.

Care built especially for you

Over the years, Becka has gathered a variety of mental health “tools” in her toolchest. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she instead leans into an eclectic style to fit each unique person in her care. Depending on your specific needs she may build your toolkit using a variety of techniques.

One tool she is especially is fond of — both personally and professionally — is music. In therapy, music can be used for movement, affirmations, insights, and lifting moods. She has also enjoyed teaching chess to individuals and seeing their self esteem rise as their abilities to play improve and they win the game.

Regardless of if you are a music lover or chess master in training, please know that Becka is dedicated to using creativity, knowledge and skills to guide you in resolving problems along your path. Her goal is to help lead you to a more enlightened life where you can unleash your potential.

Your ‘aha’ moment is just around the corner

“The journey is never ending. There’s always gonna be growth, improvement, adversity; you just gotta take it all in and do what’s right, continue to grow, continue to live in the moment.”

Antonio Brown

Your mental health journey is yours alone. And the work you put into it belongs to you. That is why, Becka’s favorite moments are when someone in her care has their personal ‘aha’ moment. This is what inspires her to continue helping others.

Did you know you can graduate from therapy or parts of therapy? You can! These are the times when you have gained the skills and self awareness to move forward with continuing your progress. Becka will be right there to cheer you on as you complete challenges. She’ll be there to listen as as you share your stories of success and feel a sense of pride .

A heart for healing and a few laughs

Becka has a heart for healing that is part of her DNA. A lover of all things circus (evidenced by her three pet chickens), she aspires to one day become a clown doctor providing hope and healing through humor. If you are ready to embrace your own creativity and begin your healing journey, please reach out to schedule an appointment with Becka.

Find inspiration on your path to mental wellness. Please note, these articles are not a replacement for personal medical advice.

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
