Anne Taets wants to help guide you as you “tackle the tough stuff” in your life. A longtime member of the Quad Cities community, she began her career in mental health working with families who were on the cusp of losing everything, including their children. Oftentimes, the members of these families could no longer find positives in their lives. They felt stuck and often did not believe things could change or get better. This soon became her “why” – to help those on the verge of losing all hope rediscover it.
It’s time to get out of your own way — and find hope
As your therapist, Anne’s goal is to help you recognize that there are things to be grateful for, even if you have to dig deep to find them. She will support you in changing the direction of your thoughts so you can become empowered and optimistic.
Her role is not to do the work for you, but it is to assist you in developing therapy goals. Next, she will equip you with the skills and knowledge to achieve them. While empathetic and compassionate, Anne will not shy away from prompting you (often with humor) and motivating you when needed. She wants to help prevent you from getting in your own way. Ultimately, Anne wants to see you succeed and feel empowered.
Experience you can trust and a heart filled with care
Anne considers herself fortunate to have been able to serve the mental health needs of countless individuals and families over the past 30 years. The moments Anne treasures most have been through the accomplishments — big and small — of those she has served. Whether it is the moment someone decides they are worth taking the time to work to work on their mental health, a client having their first “a-ha” moment, or seeing a self-described therapy “drop-out” return ready to tackle the tough stuff — each moment is amazing!
When you meet Anne you will find her to be a bundle of positivity and genuine empathy (think Olaf in human form). Unsurprisingly, she is also a HUGE fan of Walt Disney World and would vacation there every year if she could! In fact, one of her favorite things to do, is to find “Hidden Mickeys.” One of her finds is actually right behind the clinic! (See if you can find it too.)
Hope is waiting
In Anne’s opinion, “There is nothing more tragic than someone who has lost hope.” From her earliest days as a counselor, Anne’s mission has been to help restore hope to those in her care. No matter where you are in your own personal mental health journey, she is ready to help you unleash your potential in ways you never thought possible. Request an appointment with Anne today. YOU ARE WORTH IT.
