"Why not give therapy a try? Becoming an open book to yourself might end up being the best thing that you have ever done. "

Cat has had a life-long fascination with psychology, brain science, and figuring out why people do what they do. She finds that as a therapist she is able to couple these interests with a genuine desire to help others live happier and fuller lives. Cat believes that when body, mind, and spirt work together it is a beautiful symphony!

Planting Seeds

Cat is very intentional in her therapeutic approach, with a goal to provide a relaxed, open, and accepting presence so that clients can get the most from her services. She believes that it is her responsibility to provide an objective sounding board that provides assurance to her clients that their thoughts and feelings are heard and valid. Cat believes that these interactions plant seeds that grow into confidence and self-esteem. She finds reward and joy in nurturing clients to bloom into their lives.

Cat is a gifted clinician in many ways and is especially adept at working with adolescent girls. She notes a commonality of changing roles and emerging identities during this time in life that can be anxiety inducing for so many. Cat has found that adding these factors into the mix of peer pressure and growing expectations can lead to confusion and a lack of emotional safety. In supporting these tweens and teens she is able to help them discern between aspirations and social expectations, build skills, and increase confidence. Cat also enjoys working with couples and supporting individuals struggling with ADHD.

In addition to her therapeutic skills, Cat is also a skilled cook. Preparing a feast with her family is one of her favorite activities. She also collects vinyl records and finds great joy and excitement in building out her collection.

Holistic Care and Mental Health Medication

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

Mental Health Medications

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

AAPI

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
