Get to know Kylie

Kylie Russell, LISW works with anyone falling in the adolescent to adult age range as well as couples and families. Her methodologies include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and solution-focused methods.

Relates to individuals

Kylie is passionate about helping others, especially if they are struggling with trauma. She too has had traumatic experiences and it impacted her self-esteem and self-worth. As a result, she endured challenges and worked to overcome them. This insight helps her relate and connect with individuals on a deeper level. Similarly, she is an empathetic person and hopes to always come off as understanding and curious — never judgmental.

Another way that she is relatable is her sense of humor. She is able to be goofy and fun in session, and believes that humor can play an important role in the therapeutic process.

Provides a safe space

In addition to being relatable, she strives to provide a safe space where people can process, explore, problem-solve, and discuss what they are going through. For this reason, she is both genuine and authentic as she guides people towards their goals. She creates a space where individuals can feel any emotion they have and where they can open up.

Collaborate with Kylie Russell

It’s important to Kylie that she walk alongside people instead of lead them. She believes in giving those she works with as much control as she has in the process so their coping skills can remain long-term. It is rewarding to her when she watches someone discover new things and succeed in areas they were previously struggling.

In her spare time, Kylie loves to spend her time traveling or curl up with a good book and her two dogs.

Get direction for your life!

Emotions are stupid

Most of our poor decisions and behaviors that we wish we could re-do are driven by our feelings. In most cases we are probably reacting from an emotion and not even really thinking!

Oppositional Defiant Disorder

ODD is one of the most common behavioral disorders among kids. Unfortunately, people exhibiting these behaviors are sometimes mislabeled as "naughty" or "bad," which can be damaging.

Connecting With Your Teen

Regulate your emotions and then engage in co-regulation with your teen from a place of curiosity and compassion.
