Experienced and Dedicated

As it is her passion, Laren has worked in the mental health field for over a decade. In that time she has had the privilege of working with those living with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adults with autism spectrum disorder, and those living with the effects of substance use. Previously, Laren spent time working research settings and now enjoys incorporating the exciting discoveries being made in neuroscience into psychotherapy.

You are Unique

Part of what Laren enjoys most about her role as a mental health counselor is the privilege to meet and serve all people from many different backgrounds and life experience. She appreciates the uniqueness of each individual in her care and is dedicating to working with you to identify the unique path to unleash your potential.

When she is not pouring her care into the human variety, you will catch Laren loving on any chihuahua in sight. In fact, her ‘if I win the lotto’ life goal would be to one day own a ranch to raise chihuahuas on.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.

Your brain is doing what it is wired to do: protect you from life-threatening danger. The brain does a marvelous job helping your body to react quickly and know to fight, run, or freeze when needing to escape a threat.
