Get to Know Ali

Selecting a mental health provider is a very personal decision. Learn a bit more about Ali and what to expect when you or a loved one receive care with us at Covenant Family Solutions. Our mission is to unleash your potential.

Ali William-Kurt loves being able to support children, teens, and their families through the healing process. Being able to manage and communicate big, strong feelings is hard work — but, so worth it. Ali will help you (or your child) problem-solve, gain self-confidence, find your voice, and practice asserting yourself and setting boundaries.

She gets it.

As a former teacher, she knows it can be difficult for all when your child or teenager is hurting. At times it can be hard to know what to do. Ali works to provide a safe environment for children, teens, and adults to express their thoughts and feelings. With children and teens, she supports parents with understanding what is troubling or impacting their child. Next, she will work with you to generate at-home strategies and solutions.

Before entering the mental health field, Ali previously worked in elementary schools for eight years (two as a special education teacher and six as a behavior specialist). She decided to become a mental health provider in order to understand how to better support children, adolescents, and their families with therapeutic tools that can help them become the best versions of themselves. Ali enjoys working with people of all ages and all abilities.

A safe space to heal and grow.

Ali believes a safe, encouraging, and positive connection is vital to the success of therapy. Her approach to therapy includes collaborative work towards your (or your child’s) goals, empowering self-advocacy, and supporting the your self-worth. She is dedicated to creating a safe, encouraging, and non-judgmental environment for all in her care.

Lana and Ali

Ali's "Assistant" has Four legs!

In addition to traditional therapy, Ali also provides animal-assisted play therapy (AAPT) and enjoys working with animals as part of the therapy process. Her dog Lana, a golden retriever, has received specialized training as a therapy dog. Together, they are a therapy team providing animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted play therapy.

Animal-assisted therapy uses trained animals to enhance an individual’s physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. This can improve self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and facilitate healing. In addition to this, Ali has advanced training in Conscious Discipline and has taught multiple parent education classes. You can rest assured that your child will be in excellent care.

Find inspiration on your path to mental wellness. Please note, these articles are not a replacement for personal medical advice.

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
