It’s Personal

No stranger to the benefits of therapy, Katie reflects that was her personal therapy experience that inspired her to become a therapist. She wants to help others experience growth and positive change like she did as she faced depression, anxiety, and ADHD.

Katie is passionate about social justice. She welcomes all into her care regardless of race, religion, political views, sexual orientation, gender identity, or relationship status. Katie has a special interest in supporting teens, couples in conflict, military families, families navigating divorce, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those facing infertility, ADHD, anxiety, depression and self-harm.

Katie’s Approach

As a systemically trained therapist, Katie has a keen awareness that a person’s relationships and environment are vitally important to mental wellness. At the heart of her therapeutic style is an unconditional positive regard for all. Every person has value.

As you learn to understand and accept yourself through therapy, you are better able to understand and accept others. Depending on your specific needs, Katie will customize your care to serve you as an individual. The same goes for couples and families. Everyone’s story and circumstances are unique — your care should be too!

A Safe Place to Tackle Life’s Problems

A Real Person

A lover of all things green, Katie loves gardening and could spend an entire day just puttering around her yard. Well, at least when she is not busy with her family of five. That said, she understands the importance of taking care of yourself even when there do not seem to be enough hours in the day. She will always keep it real. If you are ready to take that first step in your mental health journey or are looking for a safe place to access care for a loved one, please reach out. Katie is ready to help.

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
