Whether you are struggling with a difficult life transition, experiencing conflict or lack of connection in your relationships, or are suffering from a serious mental illness, therapy can help. As you grow and improve, your positive changes will be amplified through interactions with family, friends, co-workers, and the community.

It’s Personal

No stranger to the benefits of therapy, Katie reflects that was her personal therapy experience that inspired her to become a therapist. She wants to help others experience growth and positive change like she did as she faced depression, anxiety, and ADHD.

Katie is passionate about social justice. She welcomes all into her care regardless of race, religion, political views, sexual orientation, gender identity, or relationship status. Katie has a special interest in supporting teens, couples in conflict, military families, families navigating divorce, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those facing infertility, ADHD, anxiety, depression and self-harm.

Katie’s Approach

As a systemically trained therapist, Katie has a keen awareness that a person’s relationships and environment are vitally important to mental wellness. At the heart of her therapeutic style is an unconditional positive regard for all. Every person has value.

As you learn to understand and accept yourself through therapy, you are better able to understand and accept others. Depending on your specific needs, Katie will customize your care to serve you as an individual. The same goes for couples and families. Everyone’s story and circumstances are unique — your care should be too!

A Safe Place to Tackle Life’s Problems

Katie has an innate ability to put people at ease. You will find her to be warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your behavior, thoughts, feelings, expectations, values, and yearnings. Katie considers it a privilege to walk alongside you on your mental health journey. Some of the most rewarding moments come from the smallest steps forward whether it be moving past anger and defensiveness or learning a new way to cope with big and scary emotions.

A Real Person

A lover of all things green, Katie loves gardening and could spend an entire day just puttering around her yard. Well, at least when she is not busy with her family of five. That said, she understands the importance of taking care of yourself even when there do not seem to be enough hours in the day. She will always keep it real. If you are ready to take that first step in your mental health journey or are looking for a safe place to access care for a loved one, please reach out. Katie is ready to help.

Get direction for your life!

Most of our poor decisions and behaviors that we wish we could re-do are driven by our feelings. In most cases we are probably reacting from an emotion and not even really thinking!

ODD is one of the most common behavioral disorders among kids. Unfortunately, people exhibiting these behaviors are sometimes mislabeled as "naughty" or "bad," which can be damaging.

Regulate your emotions and then engage in co-regulation with your teen from a place of curiosity and compassion.
