Therapists are Human Too

Just as many people do, Sam has a family history of trauma and chronic mental health issues. The reality is nearly everyone is impacted by mental health in some way — either directly or through a loved one.

Sam truly sees no “difference” between those providing mental healthcare and those receiving it, other than context. We can all learn from one another.

What is Your Story?

With over 30 years experience in providing mental health therapy, Sam has listened to many stories along the way. Yet, it is something he never tires of because every person has a different story.

Often times the solution that people are seeking is found inside as they unravel their history. Sam would be grateful to come alongside you on your journey to discover the answers you are seeking.

Dad Jokes are Where It’s At

Who says everything about therapy has to be serious? Certainly not Sam. Fair warning, you should expect the periodic dad joke during your sessions.

However, in all seriousness, Sam’s goal is to create a safe and informal space for you to explore your feelings and motivations while working towards your goals. He promises to be patient and non-judgmental as he guides you to tackle the tough issues that are standing in your way.

Community Matters

When not in the office, Sam enjoys staying active and being involved in his community. He currently serves on the board of directors of Benton County Pride. Previously, he was a member the band Big Wooden Radio for 20 years. He absolutely loves music and art of all sorts!

If you are ready to share your story and start writing your own tune, please reach out to request an appointment with Sam.

Get Direction for Your Life!

Find inspiration on your path to mental wellness. Please note, these articles are not a replacement for personal medical advice.

Mental health medications and a holistic lifestyle can't just only coexist, the combination can be a game changer for mental health.

You may be faced with the question, “Does my child need medication for their mental health?” If your child is worried, sad, angry, or overwhelmed, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult. If they are struggling with things like regulating emotions, controlling anger, or focusing it may be a good idea to discuss it with a medical professional.

While we cannot change the past, it IS possible to stop the cycle of intergenerational trauma and prevent it in future generations. Community support and resources play an important role.
