Covenant Family Solutions (CFS) announced today that it is now offering free 30-minute phone coaching sessions to help community members struggling with their mental health due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As providers on the frontline of helping individuals cope with the crisis, the organization reports that nearly all therapy appointments have shifted to conversations about the pandemic and related quarantine and social distancing practices. They report that many clients struggle with ways to cope as many of their traditional tools are unavailable due to the current restrictions and closures. Similarly, individuals that may have not previously experienced anxiety or stress needing therapy, are now in need of assistance.
“It is perfectly normal for people to feel isolated and anxious in the current crisis,” states CFS CEO Dr. Jacob Christenson. “Covenant Family Solutions is grateful to be able to aid in the community response to help people navigate the mental health struggles they are facing during these uncertain times.”
The intent of the coaching sessions is to provide individuals, who are not already receiving therapy, an opportunity to talk about how they are feeling and receive tools to help navigate the crisis. CFS is offering the free video coaching sessions to any individuals in the community that feel like they need help. Individuals wanting to take advantage of this opportunity can do so by calling 319-261-2292.
Other tools for individuals, including tips for coping with the pandemic and additional community resources are available here. CFS also continues to provide therapy and medication management services to current and new clients. A major goal of the organization is to ensure its clients are safe and well. In addition to practicing social distancing and sanitizing work spaces, CFS is offering Telehealth services to all of their clients for both therapy and medication management services.
