Tip – April 10

By Covenant Family Solutions

A tip of the day to help you thrive

Expect for some things to go wrong and practice acceptance. One of the things that causes distress is when our expectations and realty are divergent. Counter this by recognizing that there will be times that things are not going well and that this is to be expected. You will handle these types of situations better if you recognize that not everything will go according to plan. You will be able to adapt to difficulties quicker and more effectively if you anticipate that this will be a part of the experience.

Get direction for your life!

Most of our poor decisions and behaviors that we wish we could re-do are driven by our feelings. In most cases we are probably reacting from an emotion and not even really thinking!

ODD is one of the most common behavioral disorders among kids. Unfortunately, people exhibiting these behaviors are sometimes mislabeled as "naughty" or "bad," which can be damaging.

Regulate your emotions and then engage in co-regulation with your teen from a place of curiosity and compassion.
