Get to know Cherrie

Cherrie Spurlin works with a focused mission to help others achieve more than they thought possible with transformational leadership. Currently President of the Iowa Senior Human Resource Association, she brings nearly two decades of leadership and human resource experience to our leadership team.

An Experienced Leader

Prior to joining us at CFS, Cherrie has excelled in leading both large and small human resources teams in healthcare and nonprofit fields. She is a certified Human Resource professional and holds a masters in strategic leadership. Currently, Cherrie is in the process of completing her doctorate in business and strategic leadership. She is also a bookworm and leads a Business & Leadership Book Club with over 300 members! 

Infectious Positivity

The first thing you notice when you meet Cherrie is her abundance of positivity. She is often told that her enthusiasm is contagious (it is). Cherrie believes people are an organization’s greatest assets and true leadership is about taking the time to mentor, coach, and develop others.

Outside of work (and writing her dissertation), Cherrie enjoys cooking with her daughter and husband. Furry and feathered friends are close to her heart. She and her family currently have 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 28 chickens. Safe to say, Cherrie loves the outdoors especially hiking, ice skating, and gardening.
